Greetings, CIU United States and International Education Committee,
The Office of the President welcomes all of you and thank you for participating on the CIU United States and International Committee. As you know, the United States and International Education Committee focus on domestic and international education issues, particularly student financial aid for U.S., Liberian, and other students studying abroad. This committee advises on academic policies, program development, and the welfare of international students and scholars. This committee often advises on academic policies, program development, and the welfare of international students.
YOU ARE THE GLUE THAT HOLDS CIU TOGETHER! 🎓🎒🏫🥇
Here are the requirements for your committee.
1. Meet every 3 to 4 weeks and provide an update of your accomplishments.
2. Provide a 2025-2026 Strategic Plan for your committee no later than Sunday, August 4, 2025.
3. Keep the Office of the President abreast of your tasks, meetings, and accomplishments.
4. Setup a meeting with President Williams, the Board of Trustees, and myself if needed.
5. Conduct research on various partnerships and collaboration with other organizations, foundations, and private sector entities for CIU. Not limited to, supporting funding the university and support of organizational programs and scholar programs.
6. Designate a representative(s) to be the spokesperson on behalf of CIU.
7. Other committee duties as assigned by your Chairperson or the Office of the President.
8. Provide a Committee Status Report every 3-4 weeks. Note: The committee can create a PowerPoint Presentation with your status report, which is optional.
9. Create a Student Financial Aid program list to support funding for our domestic and international students at the university.
10. Seek partnerships and collaborations to assist in the funding with our university by providing educational services to help with workforce development for other organizations.
11. Develop new or update academic policies, program development, and other financial support for departmental programs.
Note: I have also added some of the Board of Trustees to help support the committee for any suggestions and feedback that will help the committee and the university to become successful in meeting our student needs.
Time management is important and please make time for your university, because we are counting on you. You will also receive a Certificate in the next few weeks for your participation. Failure is not an option, and I am counting on you to communicate and collaborate with each other to make CIU successful.
