CIU Application for Graduation
CONGRATULATIONS PROSPECTIVE GRADUATES!
CIU awards degree one (1) time per academic year to undergraduate and graduate students who complete their requirements: Fall (December) Spring (May) and Summer (August). The annual graduate Commencement ceremony is held each August for students who meet degree requirements in fall or spring and have 6 credits or fewer to complete in the Summer. Commencement information is sent to all eligible students who then inform the university about their attendance. This form must be used by graduating students intending to receive a degree from CIU for the month and year specified above. Not submitting an application for Graduation in a timely manner may result in failure to receive the appropriate degree.
This form must be completed and returned to the appropriate School or College no later than March 31 for completion of the year in which you want to graduate. Please notified your college or the graduate school if your intention to graduate changes to a later semester or year. Since it will be necessary to mail information to you from time to time, please notify the Register’s Office immediately if you change your address. Diplomas are mailed to all graduates as soon as the university receives them. Your diploma will be sent to you, whether you attend the graduation ceremony or not.
Note: Participating in the graduation ceremony does not necessarily mean that students have completed all degree requirements. Degrees and final completion documents will be issued to students only after all degree completion requirements and financial obligations to the university have been met.
NOTE: School colors are blue and white. And gown color is blue. However, please check your discipline for additional regalia colors.
